Public Education Program: How Climate Change is Playing Out in the Northwest (LWV-BWC)

  • 23 Mar 2019
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship

Last August we had the worst air quality in the nation as forest fires raged from British Columbia to California...The orca mother Tahlequah carried her dead baby on her back for 17 days swimming up and back Puget Sound in a ritual that touched all our hearts. These two seemingly unrelated events had something in common...global warming.

It is past time we took an inventory of our present losses and those to come and decide to do something about it.

On Saturday March 23rd. David Roberts will inform us of the latest scientific data and the prognosis for our small part of the planet. David’s slides and his easy to understand explanations of the choices before us will inform and energize us as we learn how to develop our own personal action plans for sustainable living. Following David’s presentation, representatives from Bellingham’s and Whatcom County’s Climate Impact Committees will update us on their action plans.

Bring your questions and go home with what each of us can do as we face the greatest challenge for our generation.
